A Hamlet in the heart of Belleville booming North end

Are you looking for a quaint village experience with all the amenities of a city just a short drive away? Foxboro may be just the place for you!

Situated between Highways 62 and 37 and from Harmony Road north to Zion Road, Foxboro was originally called Smithville when it was founded in 1810. Before merging with Belleville, this quiet village grew slowly, supported by agricultural and cheese-making industries.

With Ashley Street (formerly Main Street) and the surrounding area supporting a post office, churches, corner stores, a butcher, a grocery store and parks, Foxboro has just about everything you need for daily living. And with uptown Belleville and the big box stores north of the 401 only a five to 10 minute drive away, this neighbourhood is a perfect mix of country life and city living.

In addition to older homes just waiting for renovations and your personal touch, the area has many bungalows and some new builds. Large lots and mixed demographics make this a diverse neighbourhood where kids still meet up to play outside. Great local schools and plenty of outdoor activities and recreation centres also make Foxboro a popular draw for young families.

Like many places in and around Belleville, flooding can be an issue here. Be sure to get a good home inspection and a sump pump if your lot is low lying. The absence of sidewalks on some roads does not make for a very walkable area. And, the fastest Internet speeds aren’t available in all pockets.

Still, the beauty, peace and quiet and friendliness of village living make up for city conveniences, and even these conveniences are only a short drive away.
